Moved and my energy contract did not transfer — what do I do?
Two scenarios: you didn't notify the move (old contract keeps running) or the supplier blundered (your request lost). We map both routes.
First check: what went wrong? Scenario A — you didn't notify the move: your old contract keeps running until end-reading + cancellation. File a move notification immediately on portal/by letter with the meter reading on move-day (photo). Final statement follows; consumption between move-date and notify-date can in practice often be proven. Scenario B — supplier confirmed move but didn't process it: send formal complaint within 14 days with confirmation evidence; demand correction + final statement per correct date. On refusal: Geschillencommissie. Scenario C — the supplier at the new address started a contract without your instruction (via grid operator default-supplier or previous resident): rescind contract within 14 days (cooling-off) and freely choose your own supplier.
