Step plan: (1) Obtain certificate of death or inheritance (municipality or notary); (2) Call or email supplier within 14 days of death — provide date of death + meter reading on that date; (3) Choose: continue in heir's name (often most practical when home is sold/let), terminate (on immediate sale), or vacancy tariff (briefly empty); (4) Request final statement up to date of death to the IBAN of the heir/executor; (5) Keep confirmation + invoice — relevant for estate settlement and any Tax Office queries.
