My statement's meter reading is wrong — what do I do?
Incorrect reading = right to revision based on actual reading. We give the 4-step plan + dispute letter.
First check: compare the reading on your statement with (a) an up-to-date photo of your meter, (b) earlier supplied readings, (c) what's in the smart-meter portal. Common discrepancies: estimated reading despite a smart meter, electricity/gas readings swapped, decimal errors. Plan: (1) take a photo with date-time stamp; (2) communicate the actual reading + photo via portal or letter; (3) demand a revised statement within 14 days; (4) on refusal: formal dispute + Geschillencommissie. During dispute: pay only the undisputed portion.
