Politie — cybercrime + online privacy crime reports

For reports of identity theft, hacking, stalking, revenge porn, sextortion, or doxing. Non-urgent 0900-8844, urgent 112.

Last reviewed: 25 May 2026
Politie.nl is the access point for reporting all privacy-related criminal offences. When to report? Identity theft (Sr Art. 231b), computer trespass (Sr Art. 138ab), stalking (Sr Art. 285b), revenge porn (Sr Art. 139h), sextortion (extortion Sr Art. 318), doxing (publishing personal data with intimidating intent — Sr Art. 285b since 2024), online threats (Sr Art. 285), online identity fraud. How? Three routes: (1) online at politie.nl → "Aangifte doen", (2) call 0900-8844 to book an appointment, (3) urgent: 112. What to bring? ID, a concrete overview: dates + times, screenshots, URLs, communication records, names/aliases of suspects. More specifics = higher chance of investigation. Report vs notification: report = formal + police open a case file. Notification = information without obligation to investigate. Turnaround: immediate acknowledgement. Investigation can take weeks to months — cybercrime cases often longer due to international inquiries. Combination: police report + Slachtofferhulp + Fraudehelpdesk + Helpwanted (where relevant) run in parallel.
