Someone is stalking me online — what now?
Secure evidence, block, file police report (Sr Art. 285b), engage platforms, and for serious threats Slachtofferhulp + specialised help. Stalking is a crime.
Step by step
Secure evidence
Take screenshots with visible URL + date/time. Export messages via "Send chat history" (WhatsApp/Telegram). Save in a folder on secure cloud — copy to a trusted person. Important: edit nothing. Police + court want the original.
Block on all channels
Block on each platform separately. Make accounts private. Set "who can message me" to "friends". Remove public location tags. Adjust search privacy on Google.
File police report
File a stalking report (Sr Art. 285b) — online via politie.nl or call 0900-8844. Bring the evidence. Make clear: this is repeated + unwanted + impacting you. Ask for case number.
Engage platforms
Report the stalker on Meta, X, TikTok, etc. Under DSA + Terms of Service platforms have a duty to investigate. For accounts sharing your data: request erasure under GDPR Art. 17.
