We run a live check against URLhaus, Spamhaus DBL, Google Safe Browsing, OpenPhish, PhishTank and PhishStats, look at domain age, host reputation and SSL age, and compare against our own dossiers of thousands of Dutch fraud reports. You get a score with an explanation per signal.
Is this number safe? Can I check phone numbers?+
Yes. Paste the whole number (with or without the country code). Our checker matches against reports of bank helpdesk fraud, fake parcel deliveries, energy-switch scams and WhatsApp impersonation. We show how many people reported this number as fraud and what the pattern was.
Is this email from my bank real?+
Paste the full sender email address. Banks almost never send from look-alike domains like "ing-secure.nl" or "rabo-veilig.com". We check the domain against DBL feeds and the official bank domains, and tell you if this is a known phishing pattern.
Is Is Dit Veilig? free? How do you make money?+
Completely free. No account, no subscription, no ads. We build this as a public utility — no freemium trick. If you want to support the work, send a report back so the community gets stronger.
Is my check stored or shared?+
No. We don't log IP addresses or identifiable user data on a check. What you enter is aggregated anonymously so we can show trends in scam attacks, but never tied to you.
What if something is marked safe but turns out to be a scam?+
Report it back via the button on the dossier. Our feeds are fast but not omniscient — especially fresh scam domains (less than 24 hours old) may not be in the databases yet. Your report makes the system instantly better for the next person.
Can I show this to my parents/grandma?+
