  1. demand a WRITTEN offer valid 7-14 daysreal providers grant it
  2. compare via 2-3 independent comparison sites + 1 direct
  3. check actual annual total (bare rate × annual use + fixed fees + cashback prorated), not the one-off discount
  4. check term + exit conditions€300 off a 3-year fixed deal only matters if you won't want to switch earlier. Keep the 14-day cooling-off (BW 6:230o) as backstop. Under pressure: "Email me, I'll call Monday" works 99% — if they refuse, it wasn't a real offer.
