SDE++ — subsidy for large-scale renewable energy and CO₂ reduction
SDE++ covers the gap between cost and market price for 12-15 years. For wind/solar/biomass/CO₂ storage at SMEs+industry. Autumn round opens annually.
SDE++ (Sustainable Energy + Climate Transition Stimulation) is an operational subsidy for renewable energy production or CO2 reduction by businesses and collectives. Mechanism: pays the gap between cost (set per technology per phase) and market price, for 12-15 years. No subsidy if market ≥ cost. Apply in annual autumn round (Sept-Oct) via RVO. Available techniques (2026): solar PV ≥15 kWp, onshore/offshore wind, geothermal, biomass, CCS, electric boilers. No consumer subsidy — for household solar use ISDE / net-metering. For SMEs with > 200 m² PV roof: SDE++ often beneficial (€10,000-€100,000 over 15 years). Complex application — often external advisor (15-25% of expected subsidy on no-cure-no-pay). On refusal: object within 6 weeks at RVO + appeal to CBb if needed.
