Phone, laptop or tablet stolen — what now?
On theft of phone, laptop or tablet: act fast. (1) Work device? Inform employer immediately — may need to file data breach notification with Dutch DPA. (2) Block SIM + device: call provider (KPN, Tele2, Vodafone, Odido) — SIM within minutes, IMEI block usually national. (3) Police report: online at politie.nl or 0900-8844 (with violence: 112). Report number needed for insurance. (4) Change passwords: email, bank, social, all accounts logged on device. (5) Tracking: Find My iPhone or Google Find My Device — inform police, don't go yourself. (6) Insurance within 24h: theft with break-in/violence often covered.
