Consumentenbond — consumer + privacy + data violation rights

Largest Dutch consumer organisation. Conducts class actions on data breaches and privacy violations by major companies.

Last reviewed: 25 May 2026
Consumentenbond has represented Dutch consumer interests since 1953 and increasingly conducts class actions on privacy violations. Recent cases: Mass claim Equens (sale of PIN transactions — settlement), TikTok children's data complaint, Booking.com data breach claim, Google Location Tracking complaint. What can Consumentenbond do? (1) Individual — complaint mediation via Consumentenservice (members only, €5.75/month). (2) Collective — leading mass claims or joining international claims, often no-cure-no-pay. (3) Publication — Consumentengids, tests, warnings. (4) Influence — lobbying with both houses of Parliament + ACM. When here? For a data violation affecting multiple people, especially if individual claiming is too expensive and collective is easier. For pure GDPR question → AP. For bank financial dispute → Kifid. How? consumentenbond.nl — membership or complaint file. Phone 070-445 45 45.
