- Clean carpet less than 5 years old? Marktplaats "free to collect" works lightning fast
- With vinyl floor: check for asbestos — pre-1994 floors can have asbestos (see asbestos page)
- Carpet tiles separately resellable — especially modern office tiles
- Do not place uncut outside — gets refused, counts as illegal presentation
- No mold-infected carpet in general waste stream — separate notification at Recycling Point
- Do not burn in a fireplace — synthetic fibers give toxic smoke
