Home-battery provider — legit or run away?

Home-battery market is young + opaque. 6 checks between Tesla-Powerwall-level and risky private-label.

6 checks for home-battery providers: (1) Manufacturer + cell supplier transparent — established names (Tesla, BYD, LG, Sonnen, Victron) have track record; obscure private-label = risk; (2) Fire certification — CE + IEC 62619; LFP chemistry (LiFePO4) safer than NMC for homes; (3) 10-year / 6,000-cycle warranty minimum; read fine print: "performance" vs "product"; (4) Installer — certified, KvK-registered, insured at 6-figure level; (5) Insurance — check with your property insurer that the battery is covered (some require disclosure + premium surcharge); (6) Safety placement — not living room or escape route; technical room or garage. Red flags: <€2,500 for 10 kWh, "warranty" via opaque intermediary, uncertified installer. When in doubt: ask for reference projects.
