Frequently asked questions
Vacation without deregister?
Yes, <8 mo abroad = stay registered. Work abroad (employer assignment, <1 yr): often staying registered possible. On doubt: ask BRP-abroad status, preserves social security and NL tax position.
What if I come back later?
On return: re-register within 5 days. Address proof + passport. AOW year interruption impacts pension later. Some work years count via bilateral treaties for pension.
