Intimate photos/videos of me have been shared — what now?
This is criminal (Dutch Penal Code Art. 139h). Call 112 or file police report immediately, platform reporting, and specialised help via Centrum Seksueel Geweld or Slachtofferhulp.
Step by step
Safety first
Feel unsafe or threatened? Call 112. If unsure: 0900-8844 (Dutch police non-urgent). Talk to someone you trust — this happens to 1 in 6 Dutch young adults, you're not alone.
Secure evidence
Before deleting anything: screenshots including URL, date/time, poster username, visible reactions. Save to secure USB. Important: do NOT forward the photos themselves to others — that's itself criminal.
File police report
Politie.nl → file report (online or physical station). Invoke Dutch Penal Code Art. 139h ("misuse of sexual imagery", max 2 years prison). Request a case number. Serious cases: ask for a vice detective (zedenrechercheur).
Specialised help
Centrum Seksueel Geweld (0800-0188, 24/7) — free, confidential, multidisciplinary (medical + psychological + legal). Helpwanted.nl for online-specific support. Slachtofferhulp Nederland (0900-0101) for general guidance.
Report to platform
Every major platform has expedited removal procedures for non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII). Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Reddit, X, Pornhub — all required to remove within 24 hours on report. Use StopNCII.org to upload photo hash — shared with platforms and blocked across connected networks.
Damages + emotional harm claim
Civil damages claim against perpetrator via Dutch Civil Code Art. 6:162 + GDPR Art. 82. Emotional damages (smartengeld) for this kind of violation are often awarded generously by Dutch courts — €1,000 to €15,000+ amounts are not unusual.
