Naturalization to Dutch (Kingdom Act Netherlandship): (1) Requirements: 5 yrs continuous legal residence in NL (3 yrs married to Dutch/EU citizen). A2 integration minimum (reading, writing, speaking, listening) + KNM exam (Knowledge Dutch Society). No criminal record last 5 yrs (exception small fines). Willingness to give up other nationality (dual allowed 2026 for 25+ countries incl. EU). Declaration of solidarity at ceremony. (2) Cost 2026: €1,091 per person (adult), €160 child. Family of 4: often discount. (3) Apply: at your council. Appointment via city desk. Documents: passport, residence permit, integration diploma, birth certificate (Hague-apostilled), proof of address, foreign criminal record, payment proof. (4) IND processing: 12 months (up to 18). Status at ind.nl. (5) Option procedure (cheaper, faster): for 18-25 yos born in NL or raised in NL 4+ yrs. Cost €232. Processing 3-6 mo. (6) Ceremony mandatory: council organizes. Recite solidarity declaration. Not coming = no Dutch nationality.
